Design for DeFi

It designs the interface, the brand and the website for protocols where the interface is the only thing between a user and an irreversible transaction. That means the liquidation warning, the redemption flow, the approval screen someone signs without reading. We design those moments first, because in DeFi they decide whether a protocol keeps its deposits.

Look for shipped fintech products, not just mockups, and a team that understands money makes people cautious. Ask who's actually worked on regulated, multi-role financial products. Then check whether the brand survives the handoff into a real, compliant interface, that's where most work falls apart.

Around collateral health, because that's where users lose money. A borrower has to see liquidation coming while there's still time to add collateral or repay, in a sentence and not only as a ratio. At Silo, each isolated market got the same readable layout (position, yield, risk) so users compare vaults instead of decoding them. The decisions behind it are in making risk transparent.

As a retention decision. An airdrop flow decides whether people claim and sell, or claim and stay. For Spark we made staking the obvious next step inside the claim itself, and designed the rewards so holding was easy to understand. The full flow is in how we designed Spark's airdrop.

By being honest about the exit. Staking takes one click and unstaking can take days, and users who find that out afterwards stop trusting the protocol. We put lock-up, unbonding time and validator risk in front of the user before they commit, as one decision they make once. The same honesty applies to yield: risk shown as clearly as APY, with no implied guarantee. More on how we approach this in product design.

By hiding the mechanics users don't need and never hiding the risk they do. Someone should be able to deposit safely without reading the smart contract, while anything that could cost them money stays in plain view. Spark Savings grew across products and chains while the first screen stayed simple, on one design system.

Through what the interface can prove. Reserve and audit visibility, fees and routing shown before the action, and a product that behaves the same way every time. When the code is the only thing vouching for you, predictability is the brand. Security firms like Quantstamp build that trust for the whole ecosystem.

The mechanics. We've designed liquidations, stablecoin savings, staking, token launches and multi-chain deployments. You brief us on your protocol, not on how collateral ratios or AMMs work. We also tell you when a mechanic will confuse users before we design around it. That's why Spark has kept us as its embedded design team for three years.
